One of the things to watch out for is the pixel size of the picture as shown in the frame - the larger the pixel total, the better the definition - but I am sure that you know that.
My daughter secretly smuggled old photos to me and I had to scan them in and tart them up as much as I could as well as downloading stuff of mine that was suitable. We ended up with about 160 snaps. All of these had to be re-sized to the small option using Microsoft Picture Viewer as large pictures take ages to load. I needed a card reader to transfer the pictures from my PC to the SD card that we had to buy to put in the frame.
You can also insert your own SD card to show pictures already on it, but I did not try this.
It was certainly a hit as a present, is a unique collection from a variety of sources, and is on almost permanently.
