I don't know about growing from seed. I have one in the garden that looks like it's reverted back to one from being a cultivated variety. I do know that it attracts a lot of wildlife, mostly the Rose Saw fly and their larvae strip the leaves on some branches but not completely. I think they're the prettiest roses but sadly don't last long.
