Re: Landguard Common NR

Todays report

For what seems like the first time in days the sun came shining through and with it streams of migrant finches and larks. Pride of place a calling Woodlark flew south, also 260 Goldfinch, 140 Greenfinch, 43 Chaffinch, 44 Meadow Pipit, 26 Linnet, 16 Skylark, seven Siskin, four Reed Bunting and three Lesser Redpoll. Swallow passage returned with five heading south, while unlikely migrants, three Mistle Thrush, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Water Rail were seen. Very little movement at sea with a Goldeneye, Wigeon and ten Brents being the sum total. On the beach at high tide a good count of 124 Ringed Plover.

31 birds ringed.

Hope it will be as good on Tuesday
