I've been up early recently and having to drive through the woods around Milland, Iping, Chithurst, Borden Wood. Not sure if it's photographer's stuff but I've NEVER seen so many badgers. Up to 3 in quick succession ambling along the little narrow lanes. Quite tame some of them. Lots of foxes too but they're off pretty pronto . Except one which ran along in front of my car at , I guess 15-20 mph or so for a good half mile before deciding life would be a lot less hassle if he were to veer off and go into the hedge instead! Remarkable.
If you're interested in Sussex do you know about the latest on the South Downs proposed National Park? The park is a great idea, but sadly they've decided to exclude nearly 40% of the original area: all the wonderful Western Weald and the Northern Hangers in my bit over in NE Hampshire.
