Frankly it started to sound jingoistic. Using the word "special" to mean "better than Johnny Foreigner". I started to think "If I were a visitor to Britain watching this, how irritated would I be?" and the answer was "quite a bit." But perhaps that's just me.

I certainly see your point Dave. However, I have been fortunate enough to do a fair bit of wildlife watching abroad and the wildlife and landscapes I have seen have been absolutely brilliant. But for me personally, I just get more pleasure from seeing British wildlife in British landscapes. I can't explain it, it's just a natural reaction. So, for that reason I do think think that Britain is best!
