It's definately an Aminita by the looks of it but I think that is as far as you will get for id.

Thanks for that information and for the link. I have now also checked the 'First Nature' website as well and they say it is common in coniferous woodland. Thanks also for the welcome. My main hobby is photography and at this time of year I take a lot of mushroom photos but it is only recently I have started to identify them. I suspect there may be other requests for assistance before long. Thanks again to all who have helped. Phil.
