Here's another vote for Black Books (even the menu on the series 2 DVD is funnier than most other programs!) and for Scrubs.

I quite like topical humour too, like Mock the Week. Have I got News for You is always funniest when they have comedians on the panel (well, duh!) but they keep on inviting politicians, journalists or 'celebrities' with the sole aim of embarrassing them. Not a lover of cringe humour myself which is why I'm not as mad about Ricky Gervais as some.

Favourite stand-ups in no particular order: Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey and Eddie Izzard.
