Photographing animals under licence

We had a thread previously about whether or not to show photos of nests of Schedule one birds, and this kind of follows on from that.
I've noticed a couple of photos of Great Crested Newts on the site but without any mention of taking them with a relevant licence? is it a good idea to 1) post them on a public forum, and 2) for the forum to show them?
Other animals that this may apply to are Otters, Dormice, and other highly protected animals.. What is the general veiw on this??
