another point is that it is perfectly possible to be extremly offensive or rude without actually swearing - and we really ought to knock that on the head as well. for instance the ex member (now banned) who wrote to me by email that i was " clueless, a charlatan , and a fraud who knows nothing about photography and who will soon be exposed for the fake you are " didnt use any expletives or profanity but still managed to be incredibly offensive.

I know no one is perfect and I am as guilty as the next person of losing my temper and writing trash but perhaps we should return to the basics as expressed in the site rules.

this of course doesnt mean we can't or shouldn't disagree from time to time - life would be very boring if we all thought exactly the same , but surely as mature and responsible people we can manage to disagree without calling each other names of any description.
