I have inadvertently put my foot in it over crayfish, unless you have an extreme interest and training over wildlife issues there are many legal pitfalls, it is mortifying to know that a wrong word or action could endanger thevery wildlife we love!
Nesting and Breeding areas keep to yourself seems a good rule
