| Re: Gorilla slaughter. In a world that is only interested in economic growth and selfish goals what can you really expect. Animals to those people are a commodity. They don't have remorse or our western sensibilities that were taught to us by Disney. If you really want to change their attitude then you have to change their social and cultural identities to not 'copy what us westerners have done for the past hundred years' i.e. rape and ravage the earth's resources, but to immediately take on the ideology that some of us, who are sick of the greed, want to follow. Unfortunately, I think that you have about as much chance of that as a last minute landslide at the American polls in favour of a black, female president.
People often talk about these horrendous acts, but rarely define the reality of the situation. These poachers don't have our history from which they can learn and, unless we can create an economic stability and affluence in their country, where material goods outweigh the value of animals, there will be no progress.
