its also now official that several farm based advisory services are discontinuing site visits until such time as the outbreak is declared to be over. so far only two farms have been confirmed and all the stock from those has been culled. the exclusion zone and surveillence zone are likely to remain in effect for a few weeks, as foot and mouth has an incubation period of about 7days. i find it quite disturbing that the strain is the same as the one in the lab, and that the lab is now making the vaccinations.
i hope this one doesn't spread to a national epidemic, i'm not sure british livestock farming could survive another one.
