What river is it?
Allis shad Alosa alosa i think the only spawning site is in the Tamar Estuary near Plymouth. There is possibly a spawning population in the Solway Firth area and possibly the Severn catchment. They are a rare species and occur in south wales and cornwall/devon i think, so not a million miles away. |
