That's a shame you haven't any greenfinches - how strange!  Even though there's no food for any birds here at the mo, I still have them in the area singing away on the tops of the trees which I lovely to hear  |
It is strange about the finches. In fact i cannot remember seeing ANY finches this year. I get sparrows, dunnucks, blue, coal, great and long tailed tits, Jays, woodpigeons, ring doves and blackbirds but rarely finches any more.
I live adjacent to woodland but there is open fileds some distance away, it may be that the closeness of fields has changed through the masses of houses that have been built between the countryside and my house. Not sure.
