NigelT - Thanks for that info  I've not been putting any food out this past week as I've had a greenfinch with suspected Trichomoniasis in the garden (posted this on 'bird of the day' thread) but Percy pigeon and his friends are still here - he's persistant, I'll give him that. Mind you, if I had have actually caught it and contained it, I've still got another 10 or so to go on the roof!

They are a pain ! If you can bear to stop feeding the birds for a little while they MIGHT go away. Best of luck
I have got over some of the problem by making a feeder with an overhanging roof all round and only 75mm above the table which stops them landing on it. It took the small birds a little time to get used to it but now they are happy and feeding well. The pigeons will feed off the dropped food tho' !
I haven't seen a greenfinch in my garden for several years and they used to be regular visitors. Don't know why.
