Max found it, I was shooting at butterflies. His nose gives it a sense of scale.
I think it is a green woodpecker because I had seen an adult bird here three times earlier and drawn the wrong conclusions, then we found this little fellow.
I had to move him to one side because there was a car coming down the track, mine.
I went, quitely, back an hour later and several times the next day but never saw the chick or adult again.
Can anyone confirm the id? How old do you reckon he was and did he have any chance of suvival. It's
Fox world out there.
