Suggest a visit to the RSPB site at Vane Farm, Loch Leven (see RSPB web site for further details). Less than an hour from Fife on the other side of the Forth there are some nice walks and wildlife to be seen along the East Lothian coast. That is around Gullane, North Berwick.etc
There is a bird sanctuary at Aberlady Bay which is quite near to Gullane.
A bit nearer to Fife but still on the South side of the Forth a vist to the village of Cramond on the East side of Edinburgh is worth a visit. No shortage of birds there also a nice walk along the banks of the River Almond.
