Just about same set up as mine Barbara except I got the Sigma 70-300mm lens I won't even attempt to give you any tips on using it as I am very much a novice (improving I hope) myself but there are many others on here who will I am sure oblige if asked.
Have fun with it and as I said look forward to seeing some photos soon
