Lots of us here combine having a cat and feed the birds, its just a case of being abit more thoughtful. 2 bells on the collar, keeping the cat in at night until after the birds have been in for breakfast. Placeing you feeding station away from ambush areas pyracanthas and hawthorns are ideal for making it difficult for cats. It's easier keeping your cats under control than other cats, haveing your own will keep others out the garden as they are territorial. Of course this isn't fool proof but you don't have to be denied the pleasure of feeding the birds
