All the usual wildfowl and wetland birds were in abundance and from one of the hides we saw an Avocet and a Green Sandpiper.

The event saw a range of Birds of Prey on display, from Little Owls to Harris Hawks. The Creepy Crawly Show had all sorts for the kids to handle including snakes, tortoises, various butterflys, and my favourite on the day the pygmy Chameleons. The woman who was controlling the reptile section turned out to be someone I work with and who does these type of events in her spare time and I never knew!

My daughter particularly enjoyed the Pond-dipping (any opportunity to get her hands dirty!) It was a great day and I'm not sure if anyone else from WAB went but I'm sure you would have agreed. I'll get some pics up when I've sifted through them - and next week we're off to Leighton Moss

Unfortunately I was unable to go due to other commitments but I really wanted to. Sounds like it was a great day out. The pond dipping would have been just right for my kids and the bugs. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
