Hi Graham, watching the birds feeding can be so addictive, and I find I'm frightened to move away from the window in case I miss something. Even ironing is more pleasant now I set ithe board up so I can watch the birds. You will be able to turn you garden into a wildlife friendly garden with out it turning into a jungle - tell your wife not to worry and you'll both reap the rewards when it all comes to life.
