I have just purchased a copy of Country and Border Life magazine which features a resplendant photograph taken by Oy.
As Stuart wrote yesterday, part of Oy's payment was that the magazine offered a 1/4 page advert, and Oy very generously donated it to Wild About Britain.
Both the photograph and the advert are fantastic. The advert is on the second to last page at the bottom - widely considered a fantastic slot in marketing terms, as persons flicking through a magazine usually start from the back, and the position of their thumb draws them to the bottom right hand corner of the page.
This is fantastic PR for WAB.
It just goes to show what a little imagination and thought can achieve. Oy has done a fantastic job and deserves many thanks.
On the 8th of August last year I appeared on national radio and spoke briefly about WAB. Within minutes the site saw it biggest visitor level ever - with 264 people viewing.
In December Tinkerbell spoke on BBC Radio York, regarding the animated Christmas card that Stuart produced. Again the site saw significant traffic increase.
All of these activities went, in some way, towards promoting the site and cost, in real terms, nothing. Apart from, as I wrote, a little imagination and thought.
If any of you live in Shropshire, North Wales, Cheshire or Mid Wales do pick up a copy of Country and Border Life magazine. I am sure you will agree that Oy has done us proud. |
