We've had over 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours - might be as much as 4 inches. I can't tell exactly as the home made rain gauge overflowed in the night
Given that our average yearly rainfall in this area is 24 inches it's probably not suprising that the pond too has overflowed and part of the patio is underwater.
This morning I saw the wettest, most bedraggled and miserable magpie I've ever seen. He looked as if he'd been swimming and didn't enjoy it. The blue tits and squirrels aren't in much better shape, poor things.
Anyone got any sandbags?
