on the original question I hasve a 90mm tamron and am very happy with it - build quality is not an issue as although it does have quite a lot of plastic in the construction you arent going to chuck it about and it certainly isnt tinny like some we migh mention (notably the cosina but lets not go there , again)

the sigma 105 is also a superb lens and i am sure you will be happy with which ever you buy -I'd say go somewhere that has both and try them out on your camera to see which handling you prefer as this is a very personal thing.
