 Eagle Owl in Northants.
Walking my Springer yesterday about 5:00 pm in a copse just outside Daventry and my dog stopped and sat, looked up at the branch 10 feet up and there was this owl nearly 3 feet high by at least 12" wide perched with a pigeon in its tallons! It had piercing orange eyes and when it took flight its span must have been 6 foot; it rose right up to the top of the next biggest tree and stayed out of sight, the only photo I could get on my phone was of the half eaten pigeon but what an experience ! Will be back with my Pentax and fingers crossed will spot it again. |
