If however I am wrong in this assumption (and I often am  ) then I have no idea. There is a policy of not discussing the reason for rejecting photos publicly. I am not sure if PM is encouraged on the subject.

Yes, I am living in Tenerife but I have photos from the UK I took before I moved including Earth stras that grew in my garden in Ely, Cardiff and that was rejected. The Tenerife pics I submitted were of species that migrate to the UK - Monarchs and Death Head's Hawk moth but they didn't make the grade here either. Surely it doesn't matter where an animal or plant is actually located when it was captured on camera to be included if it is a species that can be found in Britain, as long as the background in the pic is clearly not the UK?
The Death Head Hawk, for example did not show any background suggesting it was at any specific location, so I don't see what the problem would be there! If the rule is that people not in the UK are not allowed to post then that would explain it but that wouldn't make much sense to me either, especially as many UK species of flora and fauna alos live in many other parts of the world!
