On my way today i noticed that my car started to make a funny squeeling noise when i braked. A little while later i was driving along in 5th gear and lifted my foot off the acelerator and it dropped out of gear. From then on it wouldn't stay in 5th. Took it to the garage near my work and the upshot is i need a new gearbox and will cost in the region of £750!!!!!!!!

I'm putting this in my subscriptions so I can re-read it when I curse at 6.30am each morning the reason I sold my car to buy a bike to cycle to work on! It's cheaper but often a lot wetter and colder!
