Trip-style traps (like longworths) are placed at least 18cm above the ground in harvest mouse surveys. They are like longworths but more sensitive as the harvest mouse is very light and won't often trigger a longworth.
Harvest mice are rarely on the ground, so normal trap placing doesn't work for them. |
