I have just joined the Wild About Britain forum so I thought I would say hello!
I am a conservation biologist at the University of Reading, Berkshire, where I am curently working on several projects in Zoology and Applied Ecology that are designed to develop the Cole Museum of Zoology and the research community of the Centre for Wildlife Assessment and Conservation (CWAC).
My research interests include the use of GIS in the development of conservation strategy maps and the ecology of British native orchids. I lectures to the MSc in Wildlife Management and Conservation in the subject areas of conservation genetics, plant conservation and GIS for wildlife managers.
I am also the the editor of the new conservation website Conservation Issues UK (
Conservation Issues UK) which has been established for all those conservation enthusiasts who are dedicated to the conservation of the Britain's natural landscape and our threatened wildlife heritage.
The aim of CI-UK is to provide our readers with up-to-date conservation news and to discuss the conservation issues that are at the top of the conservation agenda today.
CI-UK is also intended to be a forum people involved or interested in UK conservation to discuss the conservation issues that matter to them or to tell people about the projects that they are involved in by submitting their own articles or images.
I am really looking forward to chatting about British wildlife with everybody on WAB!!
