Incidentally, I gave up on Norton some time back - it seldom achieved what it was supposed to do (told you that you had a virus but couldn't remove it!), crashed a lot, took an awful long time to check the system ... and it cost money. We have all been using AVG software AVG Anti-Virus and Internet Security - Welcome for a few years now and have had no problems. In fact. most people I know use it .... and it's free ....  |
A recent test by Computer shopper concluded that anti-virus was a rip off, at least most of the commercial ones are. Norton did badly, with "underwhelming virus detection" The best was Kaspersky Anti-virus 6, or Eset's NOD32.2.7. AVG also came out very well, it's far better than Norton or Mcafee, and it's free.
