I wouldn't worry too much about it being a repaired lens, I think you'll find it will be perfectly OK.
The point Mark made about they don't check everyone from the factory applies to all makes and brands. My Sigma 50-500mm was faulty from new, with a faulty HSM motor. It also had a very stiff zoom action. It went back for repair, I never mentioned the stiff zoom as I expected it to loosen over time. When I got the lens back it was like a different one anyway! Smooth zoom, no noisy motor, instant focus in fact spot on.
I'm sure you'll find the same, any fault will be rectified and will be re-calibrated no doubt better than the factory did.
