No, its moreso that the lens is being repaired under warranty anyway, so I dont see what the issue is.
If it were me I'd rather return it to Canon myself, than... send it to Scotland, presumably at the same cost, have the seller return it to Canon, have Canon return it to him, then him return to me. That just does not make sense.
