Forum Membership Management

Can I change my username?

Unfortunately, members can't change their username as many areas of the site are linked by username information that would be lead to broken links if the name is changed.

How can I change the information in my profile?

Once you have made 25 posts, you can alter your profile, except your username. The minimum 25 post limit has been out in place to prevent new members from joining the site to simply advertise and link from their profile without contribtuing to the community. You can edit your profile here.

What is the signature for?

A signature is a piece of text that is inserted at the end of posts and can include two lines of default-sized black text with one link to a non-commercial wildlife and environment website. Signatures are only available to members of the 'WAB Volunteer' and 'WAB Link Exchange' groups.

What is the 'WAB Volunteer' Group?

Wild About Britain has been developed entirely by vounteers and this group displays the members who consistently volunteer to help develop the charity and the website. The group is publicly joinable, which means that members can opt in/out via their forum control panel. Members of the WAB Volunteer group are able to display a signature under their posts.

What is the WAB Link Exchange?

The WAB Link Exchange is a group for all members who link to Wild About Britain from their own website. To join the group, members must place a link to WAB on their site, then submit a link to their website in the WAB link pages. Members of the WAB Link Exchange are able to display a signature under their posts.

I lost my password, what can I do?

If you forget your password, you can click on the 'Forgotten Your Password' link on any page that requires you to fill in your password.

This will bring up a page where you should enter your registered email address, and an email will be sent to that address instantly, with instructions for resetting your password.

How do I get a picture under my username?

These small images are called Avatars. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. There are two kinds of avatars: those provided by the administrator and those that you upload yourself.

If the administrator has provided a set of avatars, and avatars are enabled, you may select an avatar that best describes your personality.

The administrator may also have enabled custom avatars, which allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer.
