Description: 

 A small greyish cup on a thin stem that grows either solitary or in small troops on soil in broadleaf woodland and occasionally with conifers.

Distribution: 

Infrequent from early Summer till early Autumn.

Habitat: 

On soil in broadleaf woodland, occasionally with conifers.

Cap: 

The fruiting body is grey with brownish tinges, cup-shaped, smooth, the outer surface paler, oaccasionally with a wavy margin, densely felty hairy under a hand lens.

Flesh: 

Thin, white and brittle.

Stem: 

Cylindrical, slender, concolorous, tapering towards the apex.

Additional Notes: 

Inedible.
