A small cup shaped or flat fungus found growing on old acorns in broadleaf woodland under Oak during Autumn..
Initially cup-shaped, then concave and finally flattened with age, ineer surface smooth and cinnamon brown, outer surface similarly coloured and with fine downy hairs. Attached to the substrate by a slender stalk.
Uo to 2mm long.
Occasional during Autumn.
