Description: 

A pale-brown cup shaped, medium-sized inedible fungus found growing solitary or in small troops in woodland on buried rotting wood and other debris, also on old mortar.

Distribution: 

Infrequnet from late Spring till Autumn.

Habitat: 

Woodland

Cap: 

The fruitbody is cup-shaped and the upper (hymenial) surface is smooth and a pale hazel-brown colour,the outer surface is finelt whitish scurfy and more or less concolorous. Initially cup-shaped, the fruiting body irregularly flattens; sessile or with a rudumentary stem

Flesh: 

Moderate and pallid brown. Taste and odour are not distinctive.

Stem: 

Rudimentary when there is one.

Inedible.
