A bulb, the deep blue bell-shaped flowers normally in clusters of between 4 and 16 on each stem; the leaves are long and narrow.
Throughout Wales, England and Scotland, though less distribution in Ireland and absent from Orkney and Shetland.
Often found in very dense numbers in shaded woods, the Bluebell may also been seen on sea-cliffs and banks, and hedges
Very common.
Occasionally pink or white variations of the Bluebell may be found. The flowers have a strong scent which is particularly apparent when found in larger numbers, for example in a woodland setting.
