A small creeping plant with spoon shaped, waxy leaves that are arranged in opposite pairs. The flowers, which are greenish white, are tiny, have two sepals and five unequal petals and are in bloom from May till October.
Widespread throughout the U.K.
This plant prefers damp places such as moist pasture, beside streams, pools and marshes.
The leaves can be eaten raw in salads.
