Description: 

A hardy perennial that flowers from May till August, the flowers are white, have five notched petals that grow out of a bladder like calyx, which gives the plant it's name. The leaves are oval in shape, waxy, pale greyish green and end in a point. 

Distribution: 

Common in the south of the U.K.

Habitat: 

Found in roadside erges, rough ground and open grassy areas.

Uses: 

The young leaves are said to be sweet and excellent in salads.
