Droppings are small for such a large mammal - 2.3cm long with diameter of around 2cm. Remains consist almost entirely of bark/wood remains. Generally deposited in the water, where they disintegrate rapidly so rarely found.

Footprint Description: 

Both fore and hind feet have 5 digital pads, subtle claw marks sometimes visible. Webbing between digital pads sometimes seen on soft ground. Curved interdigital or "heel" pad has 4 fused lobes.
