Additional Notes:
Habitat: On dead, decaying wood of deciduous trees, usually large, fallen and very decayed trunks of Fagus in old woodland and once common on fallen trunks of Ulmus spp. Also known on Acer pseudoplatanus, Alnus, Betula, Castanea, Crataegus, Fraxinus, Quercus and Salix spp.
Notes: Common in southern England. Occasional but widespread elsewhere. Better known as Polyporus badius.
