Description: 

A creeping hardy perennial with dark green, kidney shaped leaves and a single, purple drooping bell shaped flower in Summer.  It prefers shade or partially shady conditions.

Habitat: 

Open woodland and beside water.

Did You Know?: 

The leaves have a peppery taste and smell and was dried and ground up and used as snuff. It is toxic if eaten in large amounts.
