caterpillars defoliating oak trees in Richmond Park - these are ones I picked off my clothes after 15 minutes standing under one medium sized oak tree.
Interestingly they are a variety of sizes...

Green Oak Tortix (Tortix viridana - the white bulgy one(s)
WInter Moth( Operophtera brumata ) - the rest

There were clouds of the Tortix flying elsewhere in the park on the evening of June 8th
