Presumably a caterpillar, 3-4" long, brown on back with white stripes. Greeny brown on sides with brown spot (bordered white) and forked tail.

Hi. New member here who joined primarily because I've just seen what I presume to be a moth caterpillar in the garden, but I've never seen anything like it before. Not only its size but also its appearance.

It was between 3 and 4 inches long and hopefully the picture below will describe it better than I could ever do in words.

Been informed on the forum that this is a Puss Moth caterpillar, Cerura vinula.
