Yup. It is definately a Stonechat.

Are the white wings exceptional only other Stonechats were not so pronounced.

Hi Kenneth. I reckon that the reason the white patches on this male Stonechat appear to be so pronounced is because the wings are open, showing of the white patches to the max. When the wings are folded you would probably only see what would appear as a white bar on the wing.
