I think it is a Small Pearl-Bordered Fritillary, quite small for most Fritillaries which I have seen before. It was rather dosile as if asleep because it allowed me to get rather close without being disturbed. It was resting on mature bracken. Species seen at Warton Crag, Nr. Silverdale.

Can someone please confirm that it is of this species or if not what it is? thank you.
