Description

Easily recognised by its smoky wings, which have realtively few veins; these are dark and widely-spaced and do not fork at the tips. The adults, usually seen resting on waterside objects, rarely feed. They fly weakly when disturbed. The rather feathery, aquatic larva is highly predatory.
