Description

This moths upperwings are marked with shimmering blue-grey striations with reddish edges and two central black spots that are actually raised black scaly tufts

Distribution

Common over most of Britain during June and July from late afternoon onwards

Habitat

Found in gardens, hedgerows and parks

Diet

The larvae feed on the shoots of Rose bushes.
